Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari def. Matt Martel & Sunil Singh
Ever-Rise and The Bollywood Boyz seemingly intend to make good on their plans to bury the hatchet, and as a sign of unity, each team selected one member to take on the dangerous tandem of Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari.
Martel and Sunil appeared to be on the same page at the start of the bout, but the makeshift duo suffered its first hiccup when Martel attempted to blast Daivari with a right hand, only to clock Sunil when Daivari ducked.
After absorbing tremendous punishment from Nese and Daivari, Singh finally made a diving tag to Martel, who effortlessly tossed his foes around the ring with a series of painful suplexes and a DDT to Daivari.
Martel seemed to have the victory in the bag when he rolled up Daivari, but with the referee distracted by getting The Persian Lion’s gold chain out of the ring, The Premier Athlete clobbered Martel with Running Nese, allowing Daivari to pick up the 1-2-3.
August Grey def. Jake Atlas
Neither Jake Atlas nor August Grey could afford a loss coming into their one-on-one showdown on the purple brand, particularly since each lost in controversial fashion last week in a Triple Threat Match that also featured Daivari.
The bout had the makings of a mat-wrestling classic in the early goings, as Atlas and Grey exchanged a series of headlocks and arm drags, but it was only a matter of time before fists started flying between the two spirited competitors, who verbally baited each other to stop wrestling and start brawling.
And after beginning the bout with technical grappling and moving on to a vicious exchange of haymakers, Atlas and Grey took the fight to the skies, as Grey fearlessly launched himself through the ropes to send Atlas careening into the announce table before claiming the victory with a crossbody from the top rope.
Grey’s victory celebration was cut short, however, as Nese and Daivari capped off their big night with an unprovoked assault of Grey and Atlas, a beatdown that was highlighted by Nese flinging Atlas into the steel steps and Daivari clubbing Grey with a Hammerlock Lariat before posing with his boot atop Grey’s chin as 205 Live concluded.
