Paris Saint-Germain have been making waves all summer from the signing of Lionel Messi as a free agent to the use of Socios.com Cryptocurrency to pay for part of the legendary Argentine’s contract.

On Thursday, the French giants announced a move deeper into the crypto market with a lucrative multiyear sponsorship deal with Crypto.com which will see the platform become PSG’s “Official Cryptocurrency Platform Partner.”

Not only is the size of the deal notable, it is also unique in that Crypto.com will pay a “significant portion” of their sponsorship fee to PSG using their own CRO cryptocurrency token with exclusive Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) also part of a deal which CBS Sports understands to be worth “tens of millions.”

“We are delighted to welcome Crypto.com to the PSG partner family,” said the capital club’s Chief Partnerships Officer Marc Armstrong. “We share the same passion for innovation and the same ambition to reach the very top. With this partnership, PSG demonstrates once more its vision and leadership as a pioneer in areas such as lifestyle, esports and digital. It is an exciting time for Cryptocurrency, and we cannot wait to work with Crypto.com to bring new experiences to all of the club’s fans.”

It has been a busy period for Crypto.com, who also have F1 and NHL involvement, after deepening their ties with Italy’s Serie A via a multiyear innovation and technology deal which has seen two new player awards created and a branded VAR center.

“Our mission since day one has been to accelerate the world’s transition to cryptocurrency,” added Crypto.com co-founder and CEO Kris Marszalek. “We do so by finding the best partners in the world, and PSG is second to none. Between the brand visibility, stadium and team access, and collaborative development of NFTs, I have no doubt we’ll create new and exciting experiences for football fans around the world.”

PSG get their UEFA Champions League campaign underway away at Club Brugge in Belgium next week and you can follow the exploits of Lionel Messi, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and their superstar teammates exclusively on Paramount+.
