NWSL picks, odds, July 31 Paramount+ streaming: Courage vs. Pride predictions, how to watch from soccer expert

Just three points separate second place from seventh in the 2021 NWSL standings, and on Saturday, two teams in the thick of the fight will go head-to-head when the North Carolina Courage host the Orlando Pride. The Courage are currently fifth in the standings with 17 points, while the Pride are seventh with 16. Saturday’s showdown gets underway from WakeMed Soccer Park at 7 p.m. ET and can be streamed on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan.

Both teams will be without key players who are at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics on national team duty. The Pride will be missing leading scorer Alex Morgan (USA), while the Courage will be missing their leading scorer, Lynn Williams (USA), along with midfielders Sam Mewis (USA) and Debinha (Brazil). North Carolina is the -165 money-line favorite (risk $165 to win $100) in the latest Courage vs. Pride odds. Orlando is listed as a +390 underdog, while a draw is priced at +340 in the Saturday NWSL odds.

Paramount+ now has levels of membership so you can watch the NWSL and much more. NWSL picks for North Carolina Courage vs. Orlando Pride

Before you tune in to Saturday’s NWSL match, you need to see the NWSL picks from women’s soccer expert Sandra Herrera. She is CBS Sports’ women’s soccer analyst and has been reporting on the game for more than five years. Providing insight both internationally and domestically, she has covered local markets, NWSL drafts and NWSL finals. She knows the women’s game inside and out.

For Orlando Pride vs. North Carolina Courage, Herrera sees two struggling teams battling to a draw for a hefty +340 payout. The Courage have taken just one point from their last three games entering Saturday’s matchup, while the Pride have taken just one point in their last five matches.

However, both teams have made significant changes to try to breathe new life into the squad. The Courage recently added another piece to their attacking puzzle by trading for Amy Rodriguez, while the Pride parted ways with head coach Marc Skinner. Now, Becky Burleigh will take over for Orlando and Herrera expects to see a Pride side playing with a chip on their shoulders.

Even with the Courage having the better overall attack with the addition of Rodriguez, look for Pride goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris to help level the playing field. Harris has saved three penalty kicks already this season. Only one other penalty kick has been stopped in the entire NWSL in 2021.
