We’ve been huge fans of the TCL 6-Series TV line for a few years now. They’re packed with features, relatively affordable, and the built-in Roku interface is one of the easiest to use on the market. We like it so much, we’ve spent a couple months trying to get one to giveaway to a lucky reader. To do that, WIRED has partnered with CBS Sports and TCL to give away one of the huge 75-inch models (normally worth about $1,800).
The TCL 6-Series was our favorite TV of 2020 and is still our top recommended TV today. It has excellent local dimming via Mini-LEDs—where small sections of the screen get darker than others for better contrast—and its Quantum dot technology means you get bright and beautiful colors, with Dolby Vision and HDR10 support built-in for high dynamic range (HDR) content that streams from Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. TV shows and movies with a lot of dark and shadowy scenes look especially crisp, like The Mandolorian.
Built-in Roku also makes it easy to find any of the myriad of streaming services you might subscribe to, and the included voice remote is actually a remarkably great way to search for the content you’re looking for. It also has Google’s Chromecast built-in, which lets you send (“cast”) videos from your phone, tablet, or PC to the TV.
