The Most Underrated Casino Cities in the United States

When you think of gambling cities in the United States, you probably picture Las Vegas, Reno, and Atlantic City. But there are other destinations that can be just as exciting and provide just as many opportunities for thrill-seekers, including all of the following:

Cincinnati, Ohio

Ohio online gambling has really taken off in recent years, giving locals a chance to wager on a host of sports, horse races, and casino games. There are also a number of state-licensed casinos, as well as an Indian gaming casino.

Cincinnati is one of the best places for gamblers in Ohio. Not only is it home to the Hard Rock Casino, run by the Seminole Indian Tribe, but you’ll also find Jack Cincinnati Casino here, as well as Belterra Park Gaming and Entertainment Center in Anderson Township.

Tunica, Mississippi

Looking for some top travel destinations in the United States? Check out Tunica.

A stone’s throw from Memphis, this little city has 10 active casinos, making it one of the three largest gambling cities in the United States. You’ll find gaming tables, slots, and more. There is also plenty of that famous southern-style hospitality.

Tunica is said to be a popular destination among amateur and professional poker players, so be sure to check out the cash games and tournaments while you’re in town.

Shreveport, Louisiana

Forms of legal gambling have existed in Shreveport for over 150 years. You can check out the iconic Harrah’s Louisiana Downs or try one of the riverboat casino cruises.

Most players come to Shreveport to play the slots, but you’ll also find hundreds of tables with games like Poker, Roulette, Blackjack, and Baccarat. In addition, there is horse racing and sports betting.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

There are close to a dozen gambling hotspots open for business in Philadelphia. As far as legal gambling is concerned, PA is relatively new to the party, but it has gotten off to a running start and you’ll be spoilt for choice.

If you play Blackjack or Poker, keep your eyes peeled for big money tournaments, as there are plenty of these to go around. Philadelphia is a fun-loving city in general, with lots of great hotels, bars, nightclubs, and restaurants.

Palm Springs, California

Californians don’t need to head for Nevada to enjoy a few sports bets or casino games. Palm Springs is becoming a gambling mecca in its own right and there are five gambling resorts in town, including places to play slots, table games, and poker.

And because it’s Palm Springs, you can also enjoy some beautiful views, great restaurants, and plenty of places to sip a cocktail while sitting by the poolside. California in general has a few good options for gamblers but Palm Springs is definitely one of the best.

Detroit, Michigan

Motor City is a hub for gaming, gambling, and entertainment. You’ll find the famous Greektown here, as well as a couple of other small gaming establishments.

You won’t encounter the sort of grand gaming destinations that you’ll see in Sin City, but there are still a few high-class casinos and card rooms.
