2022 MLB odds, picks, bets for Monday, July 4 from proven model: This Fourth of July four-way parlay pays 14-1

The St. Louis Cardinals own one of the best home records in the National League at 24-16, but they’ve been less than spectacular on the road, going just 20-21. St. Louis has lost nine of its last 13 away from home and began its current seven-game trek by dropping two of three at Philadelphia to fall two games behind first-place Milwaukee in the NL Central. The Cardinals (44-37) begin a difficult challenge Monday as they start a four-game series with the Atlanta Braves, who are 24-17 at home. Atlanta (46-34) also is second in its division as it trails the New York Mets by 3.5 games in the NL East.

Atlanta is a -178 money-line favorite in the latest Braves vs. Cardinals odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while St. Louis is a +150 underdog. First pitch at Truist Park is set for 7:20 p.m. ET, and the contest is one of 10 night games on the MLB schedule for the Fourth of July. Other matchups include the Mets visiting the Cincinnati Reds and the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the Colorado Rockies. The model, which simulated every game on Monday’s schedule 10,000 times, is taking the Rockies (+1.5 runs at +115) to cover against the Dodgers. Colorado is tied for last place in the NL West as it trails Los Angeles by 14.5 games. But the Rockies haven’t been doormats thus far in the season series with the Dodgers, winning four of the first six meetings.

Los Angeles starter Julio Urias owns a 5.56 career ERA against Colorado and has had issues with several of its top hitters. C.J. Cron, who is third in the major leagues with 64 RBI, has belted two homers and driven in 10 while going 7-for-17 versus the lefty, while Charlie Blackmon (8-for-23) and Kris Bryant (7-for-18) also have had success. Cron is riding an eight-game hitting streak during which he has registered 12 RBI, with eight coming in his last two contests. Meanwhile, Rockies southpaw Kyle Freeland won his third straight decision by defeating the Dodgers last Tuesday.
