NBA DFS: Nikola Jokic and top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for Feb. 19, 2021

Friday’s nine-game prime-time NBA DFS slates feature some of the best and brightest the association has to offer. Among the stellar potential NBA DFS picks taking the court is Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid, who leads the Sixers against Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls at 7:30 p.m. ET. Another matchup to consider sees Golden State’s Stephen Curry lead the Warriors against Nikola Vucevic and the Orlando Magic at 7 p.m. ET.

Are you wise to roster Embiid, LaVine, Curry or Vucevic as part of your NBA DFS strategy Friday? And what other talent should you consider from the NBA DFS player pool for daily Fantasy basketball tournaments, 50-50s and cash games on DraftKings or FanDuel? Before locking in any NBA DFS picks for Friday, be sure to see the NBA DFS advice, player rankings and top daily Fantasy basketball lineups from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

Top NBA DFS picks for Friday, Feb. 19

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for his Friday NBA daily Fantasy lineups is Raptors guard Fred VanVleet at $7,800 on DraftKings and $8,000 on FanDuel. VanVleet continues to shine, scoring 20.3 points, grabbing 4.2 rebounds and dealing 6.7 assists per game this season. That includes going for 50 points, nine rebounds and 15 assists in a two-game sweep this week of the Bucks.

VanVleet popped for 33 points Tuesday, and stuffed the stat sheet more evenly Thursday against Milwaukee — with 17 points, five rebounds, a block and a steal. This week has netted VanVleet’s NBA DFS owners an average of over 46 daily Fantasy basketball points on DraftKings in the two-game stretch. VanVleet and the Raptors face the Timberwolves on Friday, a team that ranks 22nd in the NBA this season defending his position, and with Kyle Lowry (thumb) ruled out, there should be plenty of scoring opportunities for VanVleet.

Part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Nuggets center Nikola Jokic at $11,000 on DraftKings and $10,600 on FanDuel. Jokic is delivering 27.4 points, 11.1 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game this season. Jokic went for 33 points, seven rebounds and nine assists Wednesday against the Wizards.

Jokic continues to be a machine, averaging 9.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game over his career marks in 2020-21. And his efforts have been a boon to NBA DFS players as well, with Jokic going off for 61 NBA DFS points per game on DraftKings in his last four outings. Jokic and the Nuggets get the Cavaliers on Friday, a matchup McClure loves for the big Serbian in all NBA DFS formats.
