How much does BTS know about each other and their group? The septet was put to the test on Wednesday (June 9) with questions about their lyrics, performances and career milestones over the eight years they’ve been together.
The BTS video of their exam is part of the K-pop supergroup’s Festa 2021, a celebration of their anniversary spanning several days in June. Even if their latest single “Butter” had a smooth start to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — where it remains for a second week — the test proved to be rather difficult for everyone.
Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook debuted as BTS on June 13, 2013, but when it comes to when their fanbase — dubbed the ARMY — was founded, the members had to take a minute and remember the July 9, 2013, date. Not only was the ARMY a core part of the exam, Jin thought the ARMY would perform better than the actual boy band on the test.
“ARMY knows us better than we do. So I think the ARMY will get at least 80,” said Jin after finishing his exam and scoring a 65. “Festa gets more original every year.”
They were also quizzed on the number of remixes of their first Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Dynamite;” the order of the ARMY bombs, aka BTS’ official light sticks; the first instance when BTS said their signature phrase “Borahae;” ARMY’s official logo; and much more.
“If you look at these questions, they contain our memories, and there are small pockets of joy ARMY experienced liking us mixed in as well,” J-hope said. “Solving this exam made me realize once more just how much ARMY like us, and it reminded me of various processes and many memories.”
