Kat-Tun also released the track on major digital platforms on the day of the CD release, and while the track didn’t enter the top 100 in streaming this week, it sold 12,619 units in downloads (No. 3) and looks promising in the digital front as well.
Hikaru Utada’s new single “One Last Kiss” — the theme of the highly-anticipated film Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time that opened in Japanese theaters on March 8 — debuts at No. 2 on the Japan Hot 100, topping downloads with 66,534 first-week units, radio airplay, and video views, with the music video directed by Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno racking up 3,840,805 weekly views. The track also came in at No. 3 for streaming (9,317,744 streams) and No. 4 for Twitter.
Meanwhile, Utada’s other Evangelion-related tracks — “Beautiful World (Da Capo Version)” and “Beautiful World” (theme of Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone), “Sakura Nagashi” (theme of Evangelion: 3.0 You Can [Not]Redo) — are also accelerating in downloads and streaming, while the London-based singer- songwriter’s new track “Pink Blood” for the animated series To Your Eternity — her first musical contribution to an animated TV series — is buzzing on Twitter as fans gear up for the start of the series in April.
