Despite a 4% dip in streams (8.5 million U.S. streams logged in the week ending May 13), “Telepatía” concurrently lifts 44-43 on Streaming Songs and remains at No. 2 on Latin Streaming Songs for a fifth week after its 6-week No. 1 high.
“Telepatía,” released Nov. 18, 2020, is the third single from Uchis’ Latin Pop Albums No. 1 set Sin Miedo (Del Amor y Otros Demonios) (March 6-dated tally) — a double accolade for the Colombian as she became the first female solo act to rule with her first chart entry since Rosalía’s El Mal Querer in November 2018.
First Female Act to Lead on Her Own in Almost a Decade: As “Telepatía” ascends 2-1, Uchis becomes the first female soloist to reach No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs with a song unaccompanied by another act since 2012. Who did it then? Paulina Rubio with “Me Gustas Tanto” (February 2012). Prior to Rubio, Gloria Estefan took the lead with “Hotel Nacional” (January 2012). In fact, the trio comprises the only three female acts to achieve the feat in the last two decades.
Other women have led the chart in recent years as both lead and featured artists, but they were all through collaborations. In 2020, for example, Dua Lipa was a co-lead on the multi-artist No. 1 “Un Dia (One Day),” J.Rey Soul was a co-lead act on the No. 1 “Mamacita” and Karol G and Nicki Minaj teamed up for the No. 1 “Tusa.”
Notably, Hot Latin Songs has sported only a dozen No. 1 titles with female acts on a lead role (with or without an unaccompanied act) in the last three decades. Let’s take a look at the leaderboard:

“Telepatía” Dethrones “Dakiti”: “Telepatía’s” debut on Hot Latin Songs (No. 10, chart dated Feb. 27) traced its entrance thanks to its popularity on TikTok, which helped stir interest on streaming services, with 3.4 million U.S. streams logged in its first tracking week (ending in Feb. 18). It surged 10-2 in its second week where it has remained since, as it removes Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez’s “Dakiti” from its 27-week lead in its 12th try with a 2-1 jump.
Beyond its Hot Latin Songs coronation, “Telepatía” lifts 46-40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, after its No. 39 high (March 13-dated tally).
