Here’s Your First Look Inside Manhattan’s Newly Opened Mega-Club Nebula

The club’s musical programming is being curated by Rob Toma, founder of New York production company TCE Presents and the founder of New York’s Teksupport, which produces some of the city’s biggest dance events, including Time Warp, the revered techno-focused party that started in Germany and was brought to the States by Toma and his team in 2016. Teksupport also produces the American iteration of Ibiza-based event Circoloco, among many other shows.

Taking place this past Oct. 22-23, Nebula’s opening weekend featured sets from Carnage’s house alias Gordo, along with music from disco savant with Purple Disco Machine. Nebula’s opening party continues this Halloween weekend with a set by French producer Malaa on Thursday, Oct. 28 and a set by UK duo Camelphat on Saturday, Oct. 30.

Nebula was created by Richie Romero — a New York nightlife fixture who’s a former partner at Butter Group, the lifestyle and hospitality company behind clubs including 1OAK and Up&Down — along with his business partner Yang Gao, the co-founder of MIXX Lifestyle Group. The duo launched a renovation of the space in March 2020 just as the pandemic hit, ultimately putting $12 million into lifting Nebula to a cosmic level.

Nebula also features three private club rooms dedicated to private groups, with programming in these spaces being handled by Erica Maurer, the co-founder of event production company EMRG Media.
