MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy, advice for July 28, 2021

The Yankees aren’t having the type of season that they would have liked but that’s to no fault of Aaron Judge. The outfielder has stayed relatively healthy this year and has 21 home runs and 47 RBI over 85 games. He’s been a fixture amongst MLB DFS lineups despite the Yankees struggling to put runs on the board. Judge will hope to help New York gain some ground on the Rays in the Wild Card race when the teams face off at 7 p.m. ET.

With one of the biggest bats in the game, Judge also has one of the biggest price tags for Wednesday’s MLB DFS player pool. He will cost you $4,000 on FanDuel and $4,400 on DraftKings, so rostering him means you’ll need to search for value elsewhere. With many day games on Wednesday’s schedule, the MLB DFS player pool for the night games is rather limited so it would be beneficial to have some help in filling out your lineups. So, before locking in any MLB DFS picks for Wednesday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Tuesday, McClure included Twins catcher Mitch Garver as one of his core picks. The result: Garver launched the first grand slam of his career to return 22 points on DraftKings and 32.2 points on FanDuel. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the 2021 MLB season rolling on, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks for Wednesday. Head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for July 28, 2021

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Wednesday is Phillies second baseman Jean Segura at $3,900 on DraftKings and $3,200 on FanDuel. Segura is riding a nine-game hit streak and has collected 11 hits, including two home runs, over this stretch. He’s now hitting .310 on the season, which ranks fourth in the National League.

The right-handed Segura has battered southpaw pitchers all season to the tune of a .324/.375/.500 stat line and he’ll see another lefty on Wednesday in Patrick Corbin. The Nationals pitcher has equally struggled against hitters from the right side of the batter’s box as his OPS allowed to righties is 177 points higher than what he allows to lefties. McClure recognizes that Segura is a streaking hitter with a matchup to exploit, so you can see why he’s high on the two-time All-Star.

Part of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada ($4,800 on DraftKings, $3,000 on FanDuel). Moncada has been an RBI machine against the Royals with eight driven in over just 11 games. For the season, he’s batting .270 with eight home runs and 45 RBI.

Many hitters often struggle during day games as the shadows affect them picking up the ball coming out of the pitcher’s hand. Moncada is one of those hitters but he’s in luck on Wednesday as the Sox play at night. The 26-year-old is hitting .292 with an .842 OPS at night compared to .229 with a .719 OPS during the day. He should feast tonight off Royals’ starter Kris Bubic, who has struggled immensely and has an ERA approaching 5.00.

How to set your MLB DFS lineups for July 28, 2021

McClure is also targeting an undervalued player who is set to explode for huge numbers on Wednesday. The stars are aligning for him to return tournament-winning value and he comes at a price that won’t break the bank. You can only see who it is here.
