MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy, advice for July 25, 2021

The Toronto Blue Jays chased All-Star Taijuan Walker from the mound on the way to clubbing five home runs in Saturday’s victory. Despite ranking second in the majors in homers, none of the long balls came courtesy of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. That shows the depth of Toronto’s lineup as George Springer, Marcus Semien and Bo Bichette all hit homers, while Teoscar Hernandez knocked two out of the park. With such talent up and down the Blue Jays’ order, there are some intriguing MLB DFS stacks for Sunday.

Should your MLB DFS strategy include stacking Springer and Semien on Sunday? Or should you look elsewhere for value in the MLB DFS player pool? Before locking in any MLB DFS picks for Sunday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Saturday, McClure included Royals first baseman Carlos Santana as one of his top MLB DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Santana hit his 17th home run of the year and drove in three runs to post 25.7 points on FanDuel and 18 points on DraftKings. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a profitable day.

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for July 25, 2021

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Sunday is Reds outfielder Jesse Winker at $4,600 on DraftKings and $3,600 on FanDuel. Winker carried the Reds offense in their 5-3 win on Saturday as he went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. The long ball ended an 18-game streak without a homer for Winker, who now has 20 home runs on the season.

The 27-year-old has had a breakout season that included his first All-Star selection. Winker’s already set career-highs across the board and ranks among the top 10 in the NL in batting average, runs scored and total bases. Winker has to be a little sad that the series versus the Cardinals is coming to an end as he’s destroyed their pitching this year. In fact, Winker has recorded a .435/.490/.891 split across 46 at-bats.

Part of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes stacking Winker with outfielder Tyler Naquin ($2,500 on DraftKings, $2,700 on FanDuel), who has hit 12 of his 13 home runs against right-handed pitchers. He’ll see another righty on Sunday in St. Louis starter Johan Oviedo. Naquin’s OPS is also 205 points higher versus righties than lefties.

Formulating a successful MLB DFS strategy is all about exploiting matchups and McClure sees great potential in Naquin. Oviedo has really struggled this season as only two of his 12 starts have been quality. He’s 0-5 with a 4.81 ERA which jumps to 5.19 over his career when facing the Reds. Naquin also has favorable home/away splits as nine of his 13 homers have come at Great American Ball Park, so he’s someone you need to slot into your MLB DFS lineups.

McClure is also targeting an undervalued player who is set to explode for huge numbers on Sunday. The stars are aligning for him to return tournament-winning value and he comes at a price that won’t break the bank. You can only see who it is here.
