MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy, advice for August 3, 2021

Fifteen games are on the MLB DFS main slate on Tuesday, August 3, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET. Astros vs. Dodgers is one of Tuesday’s marquee matchups, but MLB DFS players will need to take a deep look at all 15 games to find value up and down their rosters. Bryce Harper, Tim Anderson, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Juan Soto are among the most expensive MLB DFS picks, while Walker Buehler and Zack Wheeler are among the highest priced pitchers entering Tuesday’s action.

With FanDuel hosting a $333K MLB Deuces Wild and DraftKings running a $500K Immaculate Inning that awards $100K to the winner, there are some difficult decisions for MLB DFS owners to make. Before locking in any MLB DFS picks for Tuesday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Scott Engel

Engel’s top MLB DFS picks for August 3, 2021

One of Engel’s top MLB DFS picks for Tuesday is Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson at $4,000 on DraftKings and $3,200 on FanDuel. Swanson has been on an absolute tear at the plate recently. In fact, Swanson went 3-for-4 with a grand slam, a two-run homer and an RBI single in Saturday’s 8-1 win over the Brewers

Swanson has recorded a hit in seven of his last eight outings, and he has a great chance to produce big numbers again on Tuesday against Cardinals starting pitcher Jon Lester, who has a 6.32 ERA in his last seven games. Swanson is a complete steal at this price point, so lock him in your MLB DFS lineups and look for a big return on Tuesday.

Part of Engel’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Mets first baseman Pete Alonso at $5,700 on DraftKings and $3,700 on FanDuel. Alonso is slashing .292/.354/.611 over his last 18 games with seven home runs since the All-Star break.

Alonso went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday’s 6-3 loss to the Marlins. He’s racked up at least one hit in five of his last seven games, and he’s returned over 20 points on FanDuel in two of his last four outings. Lock in Alonso as one of the top MLB DFS picks for Tuesday.

How to set your MLB DFS lineups for August 3, 2021

Engel is also targeting an undervalued player who is set to explode for huge numbers on Tuesday. The stars are aligning for him to return tournament-winning value and he comes at a price that won’t break the bank. You can only see who it is here.
