MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy, advice for August 23, 2021

Monday’s six game slate promises plenty of excitement for MLB DFS players, with all six games featuring run totals of 8.5 or higher. With high-scoring matchups likely translating to huge offensive outputs, you’ll want to identify the players who present the best value before locking in your MLB DFS lineups. That will help you afford more expensive, less risky MLB DFS picks like Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge or Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies

With FanDuel hosting a $300K MLB Monster and DraftKings running a $400K Walk-Off Home Run that awards $100K to the winner, there are some difficult decisions for MLB DFS players to make. Before you enter these MLB DFS tournaments or any others for Monday evening, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Friday, McClure included Braves outfielder Jorge Soler as one of his top MLB DFS picks on both FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Soler went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Atlanta’s 3-0 win over the Orioles. He returned 21.7 points on FanDuel and 16 points on DraftKings, so anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the 2021 MLB season rolling on, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks for Monday. Head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for August 23, 2021

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Monday is Astros shortstop Carlos Correa at $4,600 on DraftKings and $4,000 on FanDuel. Correa is a complete steal at this price point, which will allow you to load your MLB DFS roster with big-time playmakers.

Correa is coming off a scorching hot week after recording four multi-hit efforts in his last seven games. He’s scored a total of seven runs in his last four outings, and he’s got a mouthwatering matchup again on Monday. The Astros will host the Royals at 8:10 p.m. ET, a team Correa had plenty of success against last week. Houston’s shortstop went 2-for-3 with two walks, a double and three runs scored in last week’s 6-3 extra-inning win over Kansas City.

Part of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes stacking Correa with Astros second baseman Jose Altuve at $5,500 on DraftKings and $3,700 on FanDuel. Altuve is seeing the ball extremely well at the plate, having recorded eight hits in his last three games.

Altuve has returned over 15 points on FanDuel in two of his last three games and he has a great chance to produce big numbers again on Monday against Royals starter Daniel Lynch, who owns a 5.12 ERA this season. Lock him in as one of the top overall MLB DFS plays on Monday.

How to set your MLB DFS lineups for August 23, 2021

McClure is also targeting an undervalued player who is set to explode for huge numbers on Monday. The stars are aligning for him to return tournament-winning value and he comes at a price that won’t break the bank. You can only see who it is here.
