MLB DFS: Best DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy for April 30, 2021

All 30 Major League Baseball teams are in action Friday, which means the MLB DFS player pool is filled to the brim with talent. You can splurge on dominant pitching by going with Cleveland’s Shane Bieber, who has struck out 57 hitters in five starts heading into a home matchup against the Minnesota Twins. Or you could spend big on a hitter like San Diego shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., who is producing 11.6 daily Fantasy baseball points per game this season leading into a home series against the San Francisco Giants.

Bieber is expensive, as he is going for $10,700 on DraftKings and $12,000 on FanDuel, while Tatis’ price is $5,900 on DraftKings and $4,500 on FanDuel. Are players like Bieber and Tatis optimal MLB DFS picks Friday, or are there players that face more optimal matchups? Before locking in any MLB DFS lineups for Friday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

The result: Escobar went 2-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored on his way to returning over 21 points on FanDuel. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a profitable day.

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for April 30, 2021

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Friday is Braves right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. at $5,600 on DraftKings and $4,300 on FanDuel. Acuna’s .341 batting average is inside the top 10 this season, his eight homers are tied for first and he has also driven in 18 runs. Acuna went 1-for-5 with an RBI on Thursday against the Cubs.

Acuna’s start to the 2021 MLB season is stuff of legend, as his 1.159 OPS is second only to Angels outfielder Mike Trout. Acuna has scored 24 runs (eight more than Trout), his six doubles trail Trout by one, Acuna has a triple while Trout has none, and Acuna has two more home runs. Acuna and the Braves begin a road series against the Blue Jays in Dunedin, Fla., on Friday, a team he has hit four doubles, a triple and two home runs against in nine career games.

Part of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy Friday includes stacking Acuna with left fielder Marcell Ozuna at $5,000 on DraftKings and $3,100 on FanDuel. Ozuna is hitting .189 with three homers and 13 RBIs so far this season. He hit a solo home run in a 9-3 loss Thursday against the Cubs.

Ozuna hit .338 with 18 home runs, 14 doubles and 56 RBIs in 60 games last season, so you know the upside is there. Ozuna is hitting .288 lifetime against left-handers like Blue Jays starter Robbie Ray, with an extended slash line of .341/.506/.847 that rates better than his production against right-handers. McClure knows this, and recommends Ozuna in all Friday MLB DFS matchups.

How to set your MLB DFS lineups for April 30, 2021

McClure is also targeting an undervalued player who is set to explode for huge numbers on Friday. The stars are aligning for him to return tournament-winning value and he comes at a price that won’t break the bank. You can only see who it is here.
