Why you should back the White Sox

Chicago will start right-hander Dylan Cease (13-7, 3.91 ERA). Cease has pitched well for much of the season and won six of his last seven decisions, dating back to Aug. 3. In his last win, a 1-0 victory at Cleveland on Sept. 24, he did not allow a run on four hits in 5 1/3 innings. He did not walk a batter and struck out nine. In his last start on Oct. 3 against Detroit, he went four innings, allowing one earned run while walking two and striking out five.

Offensively, shortstop Tim Anderson has been on fire. He is 4-for-9 in the series, including a 3-for-5 performance in Game 2. For the season, Anderson batted .309 with 17 home runs, 61 RBIs and 94 runs scored. In seven games against the Astros, he is batting .241 with one double, one triple, two homers and three RBIs.

Why you should back the Astros

Houston will send right-hander Luis Garcia (11-8, 3.30 ERA) to the mound. Although he is just 1-1 in his last three starts, he has allowed just four total earned runs in that span. He allowed three earned runs in five innings in his last outing, a 7-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Sept. 29. His start prior, he blanked the Angels over six innings of a 9-5 12-inning win over the Los Angeles Angels on Sept. 22. In that game, Garcia allowed just three hits, three walks and struck out one.

Shortstop Carlos Correa has been red hot this series, going 3-for-6 with a double and two RBIs. He was 2-for-3 in Game 1. For the season, Correa batted .279 with 26 homers, 92 RBIs and 104 runs scored. In seven games against the White Sox this season, he has three extra-base hits, including a pair of home runs.
