Tempting Cocktails For Tequila Day 2021 | Cheers

National Tequila Day is Saturday July 24. Need we say more? We didn’t think so! Get your cocktail shakers ready and think outside the basic Margarita box. Check out these eight cocktails that celebrate the venerable agave spirit. (But if you want a good Margarita recipe, here’s our roundup from Margarita Day.)


Keyword lime, taramind, tequila


  • 2 oz. Avion Silver tequila
  • ¾ oz. Tamarind agave
  • ½ oz. Pineapple juice
  • ¼ oz. Lime juice
  • 2-3 dashes Peychaud bitters top


  • Combine liquid ingredients in shaker tin.

  • Add ice.

  • Shake roughly 20 seconds to fully combine ingredients.

  • Strain over fresh ice in rocks glass.

  • Float Peychaud’s bitters for garnish.

Beyond the Beach

Keyword Blue Curaçao, lime, pineapple, strawberry, tequila


  • 2 oz. El Sativo Añejo tequila
  • ½ oz. Coconut syrup Liquid Alchemist
  • ½ oz. Fresh pineapple
  • ½ oz. Drillaud Blue Curaçao
  • ¾ oz. Fresh lime
  • Grated nutmeg
  • Chopped strawberries


  • Add the tequila, coconut, pineapple, Blue Curaçao and fresh lime into a shaker tin.

  • Add ice and shake.

  • Fine strain over pebble ice in a large goblet glass.

  • Shave nutmeg on top with cut up strawberries for garnish, along with a pineapple leaf.

St. Tropez Margarita

Keyword lime, rosé, tequila


  • 4 oz. La Fête du Rosé wine
  • 1 oz. Silver tequila
  • 1 oz. Fresh lime juice
  • 1 ½ oz. Simple syrup
  • Salt for rimming glass


  • Add all ingredients to a tin with ice.

  • Shake hard.

  • Strain into salt-rimmed glass with ice.

  • Garnish with a lime wheel.

Strawberry Tropical

Keyword Angostura bitters, lemon, strawberry, tequila


  • 1 ¼ oz. Tequila Cazadores Reposado
  • 2 Fresh strawberries muddle
  • ¾ oz. Fresh lemon juice
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • Pinch of salt
  • Top with Grapefruit soda Fresca


  • In a cocktail shaker, muddle fresh strawberries.

  • Add the rest of the ingredients with ice, except grapefruit soda.

  • Shake and pour over the rocks in a tall glass.

  • Top with grapefruit soda.

  • Garnish with lemon peel and strawberries

Purple Rain

Keyword lime, Parfait Amour, pear, tequila


  • 1 ½ oz. Bad Stuff Reposado tequila
  • ½ oz. Parfait Amour
  • ¾ oz. Pear syrup
  • ¾ oz. Lime juice
  • 2 dashes Orange bitters


  • Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake

  • Rim glass with Hawaiian Black Sea Salt rim.

  • Strain over rimmed glass with ice and garnish with edible flowers.

Dos Homb-Rise

Keyword lime, mezcal, pineapple, pommegranate


  • 2 oz. Dos Hombres mezcal
  • 2 oz. Pineapple juice
  • 1 oz. Fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz. Agave syrup
  • ½ oz. Pomegranate syrup
  • Mexican tajin salt
  • Dehydrated pineapple leaf


  • Add all ingredients into a shaker.

  • Shake hard to chill.

  • Strain into highball glass.

  • Garnish with rimmed tajin seasoning, dehydrated lime and a pineapple leaf.

Tan Fresco Tan Verde

Keyword cucumber, fino sherry, lime, Patron, pineapple, tequila


  • Tan Fresco Tan Verde
  • 1 ½ oz. Patron Silver tequila
  • 1 oz. Cucumber juice
  • ¾ oz. Fresh lime juice
  • ¾ oz. Pineapple gum syrup
  • ¼ oz. Fino sherry
  • 2 dashes Ancho Reyes Verde liqueur
  • Top with Soda


  • Shake all ingredients except for soda.

  • Fine strain into a highball glass. Top with soda.

  • Garnish with a cucumber ribbon and sliced pepper.

Mexican Martini

Keyword Casamigos Anejo tequila, lime, olive, tequila


  • 1 ½ oz. Casamigos Anejo tequila
  • ¾ oz. Cointreau
  • ¼ oz. Lime juice
  • Splash of Olive juice
  • 2 each of thinly sliced Jalapeno slices


  • Combine ingredients in a mixing tin with ice.

  • Stir and strain into Martini glass.

  • Garnish with jalapeno slices.
