Remy Cointreau has launched two expressions from the Bruichladdich single malt Scotch whisky portfolio made with “vintage” barley.

Bruichladdich Bere Barley is a ten-year-old Scotch, distilled in 2011 from the 2010 Bere grain harvest in Scotland’s Orkney islands. The second release,  Port Charlotte Islay Barley, was distilled in 2013 from grain produced in the Scottish region of Islay and follows 2010 and 2011-distilled iterations from the area, released in the last two years.

“The vintages we release today are a testament to the stamina and longevity of our first barley projects and the people who have persevered with us on our mission to discover differences in food and drink,” said Bruichladdich’s global brand manager, Christy McFarlane. “With many more casks of our collective work stored in our warehouses, we look forward to releasing more of our successful legacies and others not yet tasted.”

Remy Cointreau, which acquired Bruichladdich for US$90.3m nine years ago , last month reported a 105% sales leap for Q1 fiscal-2022.
