Pernod Ricard has released the first whiskey to be distilled at its Method and Madness Irish spirits distillery.

Method and Madness Rye and Malt Irish Whiskey spent time in ex-Bourbon American oak barrels and uses a 60/40 blend of rye and malt. As well as selected UK and Irish retailers, the limited-edition expression can be purchased at Dublin airport.

It is the first whiskey to come from Pernod’s micro distillery project inside the Midleton distillery, where Jameson is made. A Method and Madness gin was released in 2019.

“It has been an honour to be part of the micro distillery team from its inception in 2015 to today, sharing the first ever drops of whiskey produced there with the world,” said distiller Katherine Condon. “We have questioned tradition and challenged convention to  drive the Irish whiskey category forward for a new generation of creators, consumers, and indeed, suppliers.”
