GlenAllachie Distillery Co has released its oldest core Scotch expression, a 30-year-old single malt.
The new launch, the first in an upcoming series of 30-year-old whiskies from the company, will roll out globally on an allocation of 2,000 bottles. The expression is a combination of 1989 and 1990 vintages matured in former Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso hogsheads and puncheons, along with a small quantity of Chinquapin virgin oak casks.
“I always had an ambition to create a memorable 30-year-old expression, presented at natural cask strength,” said GlenAllachie master distiller Billy Walker. “It’s a small-batch single malt that undoubtedly captures everything I’ve learned along the way in my career, and this is a bottling I’m particularly proud to release.”
In March, GlenAllachie added a ten-year-old cask strength whisky to its portfolio. The single malt was bottled at 55.9% abv.
