Beam Suntory readies new Bowmore series for Global Travel Retail – Just Drinks

Beam Suntory has partnered its Bowmore Scotch whisky brand with Scottish graphic artist Frank Quitely for a new line of high-end Global Travel Retail-exclusive bottlings.

No Corners to Hide debuts this week with 23- and 32-year-old expressions, both of which feature artwork created by Quitely, whose works have appeared in Marvel and DC Comics publications. The pair launch this week in GTR outlets including in Amsterdam, Dubai, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Singapore, Taiwan and Vienna.

The 23-year-old, which is limited to 6,666 70cl bottles, comprises whisky matured in ex-Bourbon American oak hogsheads prior to a further two years in Essencia barriques. With an abv of 51.5%, the single malt carries an SRP of US$400.

Similarly, the 32-year-old expression followed the same aging process, finishing in Essencia barriques for two years. With 666 units on sale, the older Scotch has an abv of 47.3% and an SRP of $2,995. Also featured with the bottle is a signed print from Quitely.

“Possessing a proven track record of producing collectable artwork with both Marvel and DC, the Frank Quitely Collection is our latest exciting collaboration to offer luxury limited-editions to our customers,” said Beam Suntory’s GTR marketing director, Manuel González.

No Corners to Hide, which takes its name from a circular church on Bowmore’s home island of Islay, will be augmented by further iterations “over the coming years”.

Earlier this year, Beam Suntory kicked off another GTR exclusive, this time with Aston Martin, for limited packaging across three of Bowmore’s core range.
