Here are the new Exotics in Destiny 2: Beyond Light

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is here, and with it a host of new Exotic weapons and armor. As usual, we have a good idea of the Exotic offering this season thanks to the in-game Collection tab. However, it’s entirely possible Bungie could be hiding Exotics for a later date.

Here’s the complete list of new Exotics that we currently know about in Destiny 2: Beyond Light.

Weapons

There are five new Exotic weapons in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, although Bungie could surprise us with more.

Cloudstrike

Mortal Polarity: Precision final blows generate a lightning bolt at the target’s location.

Bungie announced this sniper rifle a few weeks ago in its Exotic trailer for Beyond Light. It creates a lightning strike when you get a headshot. We’re not sure how to get it just yet.

Duality

Compression Chamber: Fires a pellet spread in hip-fire or a single high-damage slug while aiming.

Duality is the new Season Pass weapon for Season of the Hunt. It’s called Duality because it fires a wide spread from the hip and a powerful slug when aimed.

Hawkmoon

Unknown

Hawkmoon is a returning favorite from the original Destiny. We’re not exactly sure how to get it or how its perk set has changed since the original game. In the original Destiny, Hawkmoon randomly applied bonus damage to bullets throughout the magazine when you reloaded, which could occasionally result in a one-shot kill in PvP.

The Lament

Banshee’s Wail: Hold to rev the blade. Increases damage, shield bypass, and adds Shield-Piercing to all attacks. Gain stacks when dealing damage with revved attacks. Additional stacks increase the damage and damage resistance of heavy attacks.

The Lament is a new sword in Destiny 2 and it’s also a chainsaw. It has a powerful combo that can cut through Anti-Barrier Champions’ shields.

No Time To Explain

Rewind Again: Precision shots against combatants slowed or frozen by Stasis will return to the magazine.

No Time To Explain is another returning Exotic from the first Destiny. When you get precision hits, it creates a little turret that floats next to you and shoots at enemies.

Salvation’s Grip

Cryocannon: Hold to charge, release to fire. This weapon’s projectiles create Stasis crystals and freeze nearby targets.

The Salvation’s Grip is a Stasis Exotic that fires ice block grenades at targets, creating platforms and such. We’re not sure how you get this one just yet.

Eyes of Tomorrow

Eyes on All: This weapon is capable of tracking and firing at multiple targets simultaneously.

Eyes of Tomorrow is an Exotic rocket launcher that can fire at multiple targets at once. Every time you kill four or more enemies with a single volley, your next set of rockets will do more damage.

Armor

There are six new armor Exotics in Destiny 2: Beyond Light — two for each class. Like weapons, Bungie could surprise players with more.

Athyrs’s Embrace

Skittering Stinger: Weighted Knife gains a second bounce. Rapid precision hits with your weapons grants Weighted Knife a significant damage bonus and the ability to stagger unshielded combatants for a short time.

The Athyrs’s Embrace Hunter Exotic gauntlets is the first of several good PvP Exotics on this list. This Exotic makes the Hunter Throwing Knife more powerful and lets it ricochet more times.

Dawn Chorus

Rites of Ember: Your Daybreak projectiles cause targets to burn on contact and deal more damage to them. All of your burn effects last longer, and you gain a small amount of melee energy each time one of your burns damage a target.

The Dawn Chorus helmet Exotic increases the PvE potency of Warlock’s most powerful PvP super: Dawnblade. Super attacks cause targets to burn and refund melee energy.

Icefall Mantle

Glacial Guard: Replaces your Barricade ability with a personal armor reinforcement that absorbs a small amount of damage. While reinforced, you are slowed and Barricade does not recharge.

This Titan gauntlet Exotic overrides the Barricade ability. When creating a Barricade, the Titan instead gives themselves an Overshield.

Mask of Bakris

Light Shift: Replaces your Stasis subclass Dodge ability with a longer range, faster moving Shift that partially cloaks you during use. After Shifting, your Arc weapons deal increased damage for a short time.

This seems like a solid PvP Exotic helmet for Hunters. It replaces the Hunter dodge with a teleport.

Necrotic Grip

Grasp of the Devourer: Damage combatants with melee attacks corrupts them with increasing damage over time. Defeating corrupted combatants spreads the corrupting effects to nearby targets and restores melee energy.

This Warlock Exotic gauntlet is all about crowd control. Warlock melee attacks poison enemies, and defeating a poisoned enemy spreads the poison to nearby targets.

Precious Scars

Kintsugi: After reviving or being revived, you gain an aura that provides overshields to you and nearby allies.

This Titan Exotic helmet seems best for hardcore PvP and PvE activities with revives. It gives an Overshield to nearby allies after a revive.
